Hey guys!
Im Sorry for not updating as soon as promised, but I've been veeeeeeeeeery lazy...
Anyways! Here are some WIP, although very soon done, pictures of the first piece in the chess board!
It is a Word Bearers Terminator Lord, and is to act as the queen on for the black "team".
Anyways, here are the pictures!

(the light was a bit iffy btw!)

I have to admit guys, painting the axe took 5 tries and 7 hours. I am happy with it as it is now, although I wish id gone further towards white...

the cape isnt done justice with this lighting...

Not too sure if I like the Tyranid or not, but its Varnished and I cant be bothered to change it...

I am generally very happy about how he turned out!

So there you have him!
I like him, very satisfied! I have to say that I really like the Word Bearers color scheme, and I like how the colors chosen play with each other to make him pop!

Until next time! Cheers!

First blog post - first update and future plans

Welcome, to the wonderful and crazy world of miniature painting and gaming, and to some extent whats going on inside my head!

Since this is my first blog post, EVER, I can start by saying a few things about myself. I was born in Norway, Oslo, and grew up there. I spent some time in my early teens painting and building Tamiya model cars, but stopped after a while. When I was 18, my friend introduced me to Warhammer 40 000, and long story short: I fell in love with it!

Soooooo... without getting into too much boring shit, I moved to Calgary in Alberta to study and thats where I am based now! And sometime this winter I got the idea of making a chess board using 40k minis, and it didn't take long before I decided to make one for my parents. Thats what this blog is mainly about, that chess board. So that is what this blog will be focusing on.
I plan on posting updates as I go with pictures, reviews and tutorials. There will also be videos posted on my YouTube channel when I get my filming equipment in.

The chessboard's theme will be Grey Knights and Inquisitorial Storm Troopers against Chaos Space Marines and their cultists, painted in a world eaters scheme. I will try my best to keep it somewhat fluffy and see where it goes from there...
My plans for the lineup is using the Cultists and Storm Troopers as pawns. Using Grey Knights Purifiers with incinerators and regular Chaos Space Marines with flamers for rooks. Use Grey Knight Interceptors and Chaos Space Marines Warp Talons as knights. Grey Knight Terminators with halberds and regular Chaos Space Marines Terminators as bishops. Use a Chaos Space Marine Terminator Lord and a Grey Knight Brother Captain as queens and A Chaos Space Marine Terminator Sorcerer and a Grey Knights Terminator Librarian as kings.
The reason for using the psykers as kings, and not the captain and lord, is because in my eyes, a captain and lord are both more powerful than the psykers, and therefore I believe that being a queen is a more fitting role for such characters.

When it comes to the looks of the models, the master of greenstuff himself (Vanhammer73 on youtube), is going to convert the brother captain and the Chaos Sorcerer for me! I really look forward to seeing what he will do to them! He also does commissions! The rest of the models will more or less be stock.

Model progression wise, I bought the first two models last week, the Grey Knight Brother Captain and a Chaos Space Marine Terminator Lord. The Brother Captain had to be ordered in, so I started painting the Chaos Lord this weekend. Pictures to come later!

I hope that this blog will be informative, funny, interesting and above all bring joy to the amazing people in the wargaming community and at WGC!

Have a wonderful day!
Best regards
